Sharing fact-based information on COVID-19

An unprecedented crisis requires all sectors of our society to come together to protect the public’s health. We’re proud of the work our clients are doing to inform the American public and help prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

COVID-19: Focusing on Health Inequity

Richard Besser, president and chief executive of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post on the social inequities the virus has made so obvious. “Crises such as H1N1 and COVID-19 provide a mirror for our society and the actions we take — or fail to take. Today, the United States in that mirror is one in which the risk of exposure and the ability to protect oneself and one’s family depends on income, access to health care, and immigration status, among other factors,” he wrote. Besser also appeared on CNN and gave an interview with ABC’s Start Here podcast.

COVID-19: Protecting Moms and Babies

March of Dimes Chief Medical and Science Officer Dr. Rahul Gupta spoke with Buzzfeed about what pregnant moms need to know about the virus. And, Dr. José Cordero, a former March of Dimes board member, spoke with CNN en Español and National Telemundo. The organization also launched a Mom and Baby COVID-19 Intervention and Support Fund to address the need for research and education to protect moms and babies from the virus.

COVID-19: Hearing From the Experts

Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) experts on the front lines battling the COVID-19 global pandemic are uniquely equipped to answer questions, provide expert guidance, and sort fact from fiction. IDSA, working with McCabe Message Partners recently conducted a television media tour informing people in 25 cities about important steps that can be taken to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

COVID-19: Providing Critical Information

The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, which has become a definitive source of information during this crisis, launched a podcast, Public Health on Call, to share science- and evidence-based insights on COVID-19. The School’s experts are exploring a range of topics from answers to common questions, to issues of preparedness, to the role of health care providers, to how to best serve at-risk communities.

COVID-19: A Warning for Smokers and Vapers

Tobacco Free Kids (TFK), has released a call to action for all tobacco users. In a nationwide television media tour via Skype interviews, they urge all smokers and vapers to protect their health by quitting immediately and seeking help through online resources. COVID-19 is known to have a harsh impact on those with poor lung health, putting this group at a high risk of infection.
