Tara Zafar

Tara specializes in strategic marketing and new business development. She supports the firm’s social media, awards, executive positioning and thought leadership strategies and execution. She also supports the firm’s new business growth efforts through pipeline management and proposal and pitch development.

Tara was instrumental in supporting Avoq’s rebranding effort, managing the various work streams involved, including internal and external operational and promotional efforts.

Before Avoq, Tara was a manager of marketing and new business development at Edelman, where she supported the firm’s U.S. social media, award recognition and IP promotion, as well as new business proposal and pitch development. She also led executive positioning efforts for Edelman’s U.S. CEO and managed the podcast series, “The TrustMakers.” Prior to Edelman, Tara interned at Massachusetts General Hospital: The Cancer Center, Spoon University and Rafanelli Events.

Tara was born and raised in Boston, but currently lives in Washington, D.C., with her older sister, Nina. You can often find her trying out the many new restaurants popping up in D.C.
