Yuri Samovalov

Yuri works closely with the Finance, Talent, IT and Operations teams on optimizing business processes and software. He also helps the account team to develop client contracts, scopes and project budgets and manage advertising campaigns.

Yuri has managed multiple migrations to new financial and project management software, implemented new internal controls to maintain data accuracy and improved management reporting.

Yuri originally started as an intern at Avoq in 2010 and quickly gained experience as the firm grew. He briefly left in 2013-2014 to hold the Controller position at Jellyvision, a venture-backed software company based in Chicago before returning to Avoq. Yuri has a B.A. in Finance and Accounting at Loyola University Chicago.

Yuri is from Kyiv, Ukraine, and now lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and two daughters. Having previously lived in the Pacific Northwest, he enjoys hiking, birdwatching and mushroom hunting.
