Cedric Grant
Cedric specializes in House Democratic Leadership outreach as well as the Congressional Black Caucus. He develops and executes strategic policy advocacy across a range of areas for corporate and nonprofit clients, including healthcare, financial services, appropriations, tech and sports & entertainment. Additionally, Cedric cultivates third-party validators to support corporate policy that drives growth strategies and complements advocacy on Capitol Hill.
Cedric has been instrumental in assisting a number of clients cultivate strategic relationships with the new Democratic Leadership in the House. Additionally, he has recently guided corporate clients to become thought leaders in respective policy areas that are pertinent to their business model and expertise. Clients also value Cedric’s ability to help devise communications strategies, including issue campaigns that complement policy objectives inside the beltway.
Before Avoq, Cedric served as director of government relations for H&R Block, where he developed corporate strategy relating to the legislative agenda and lead advocacy on tax administration and financial consumer credit committees of jurisdiction in the House and Senate as the lead Democratic lobbyist for the company.
Notably, Cedric served as chief of staff to the House Democratic Leader, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.). As his first COS, Cedric set legislative and political goals aligned with member objectives and was the principal liaison to key stakeholders and interest groups in D.C. and N.Y. Cedric also developed the roll-out strategy and scope of the Democratic Policy and Communication Committee for the 115th Congress.
Cedric is from Mount Vernon, N.Y., and now lives in Maryland with his family. He’s an avid D.C. sports fan and particularly a diehard Washington Commanders fanatic. Cedric also enjoys crashing real estate open houses in exclusive neighborhoods just to critique the interior design aesthetic.
