Joy Burks

Working across sectors, but with a strong focus in public health and health advocacy, Joy has played many roles at Avoq.

Joy led Avoq’s broadcast media division, executing satellite and radio media tours for clients across the nonprofit, for-profit and government agency landscape. She also oversaw the development of the agency’s in-house production studio and, in 2020, managed the launch of Avoq’s virtual event offering.

Joy is a mom of two who lives in Arlington, VA. She grew up in New Mexico, and still regularly seeks out green chili wherever she can find it. She is active with Washington Women in Public Relations.
