Susan Spencer

Senior Vice President | Content
New York |

Susan focuses on content strategy, earned media and thought leadership for clients ranging from nonprofits and advocacy groups to private foundations. She has a special interest in the women’s health space and spearheaded the development of Amplify Her, a new Avoq thought leadership program aimed at women executives.

Susan joined Avoq after a long career in journalism, consulting and management. As a media executive, she was most recently editor-in-chief of Woman’s Day magazine, which she revitalized during her tenure by connecting deeply with its audience of 15+ million. The magazine was the top-selling monthly on U.S. newsstands from 2016-2019. As a consultant, her clients included a nonprofit promoting women’s economic security, a global content marketing agency and a PR/communications firm in the health and wellness space.

Susan’s interests range from yoga (favorite pose: Warrior 2) to running, cooking, fiction and playing pickleball rather badly. A Massachusetts native who somehow ended up in New Jersey, she is the mom of two amazing young women.
