Kat Lackey

Kat specializes in content development and strategy, storytelling and messaging. She works with clients across industries and sectors, including science, public health, finance and higher education.

Kat recently helped develop and write an in-depth report highlighting the need for a national science and technology strategy in the United States as well as greater federal investment, coordination and leadership.

Before Avoq, Kat worked as editor-at-large at CQ Roll Call, where she kept track of all the mechanics of legislative policymaking and the intricacies of Senate rules. Prior to that, she spent eight years at USA Today working in a wide variety of editing and reporting roles, from breaking news to health and finance.

Kat is a rare born-and-bred resident of the D.C. metro area. When she’s not working, you can find her running all the miles and petting all the dogs.
