Nez is a visual information specialist who focuses on video editing. They also have a background in photography and videography, and have worked in various industries, including science communication, government and national security and YouTube content creation.

Before Avōq, Nez was a video editor, photographer and videographer for the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, the DoD’s largest biomedical research institute. There, they used video and photojournalism to communicate about global health engagement and critical scientific research, including producing a video on the BH-GEAR training program, a research initiative that prepares soldiers to respond to behavioral health crises in deployed environments. Before that, they were a video editor and producer for a major YouTube channel and a media production intern at NASA Langley Research Center. 

Nez is originally from the Blue Ridge Mountains area outside of Asheville, North Carolina, but now lives in the D.C. area. They enjoy playing video games, sewing, working on crafting projects and playing with their three cats: Meeko, Honey and Ming.
