Catherine Turco King
Catherine has nearly a decade of experience managing large public affairs campaigns on behalf of her government, non-profit, and corporate clients. At Avoq, she specializes in strategic planning, message development, and media relations to help clients meet their communications and public affairs goals.
Before joining Avoq, Catherine served as assistant press secretary for former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, managing the mayor’s communications related to education and social services, working closely with Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, and the Department of Family Support Services. Previously, she worked as a press liaison between the mayor’s office and multiple city departments on issues ranging from economic development and public health to technology and sustainability.
Catherine is also a photographer and has had photos featured in The New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, DNAinfo, and Chicago Inno, as well as on Good Morning America and ABC-7 Chicago. She lives in Chicago with her husband and daughters.
