Josh Rosenfeld

Director | Strategic Communications
New York |

Josh brings over a decade of political communications experience to Avoq, where he specializes in media relations, issue advocacy, message development and strategic counsel. He assists a broad range of clients across a wide array of industries and sectors, including nonprofit, civic and corporate.

Josh has led several key Avoq campaigns, including serving as the strategic communications and press lead for the public affairs campaign surrounding New York’s intellectual and developmentally disabled community’s effort to contend with a decades-long funding and workforce crisis. He led a large-scale earned media effort to secure millions in the New York City budget to combat anti-Asian hate crimes, expand mental health access to vulnerable communities, and expand language access services for immigrant populations.

Prior to joining Avoq, Josh served as a deputy press secretary for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, where he developed press and messaging strategies at the highest levels of New York State government. Prior to that, he was a press officer at the New York State Department of Labor. Before those two positions, Josh was a trainee at Avoq, and he began his career as a legislative aide to New Jersey State Senator Linda Greenstein.

A Jersey boy at heart, Josh now lives in Manhattan’s West Village with his wife, two daughters and dog, Judge.
