Catherine Turco King

Catherine specializes in strategic planning, message development, and media relations. She manages clients across sectors and industries including education, health care, energy, land use, and economic development.

Before joining Avoq, Catherine was assistant press secretary for former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, handling issues of education and social services. She led the mayor’s press related to Chicago Public Schools, City Colleges of Chicago, and the Department of Family Support Services. Previously, she worked as a press liaison between the mayor’s office and multiple city departments on issues ranging from economic development and public health to technology and sustainability.

Catherine is a professional photographer and has had photos featured in The New York Times, Chicago Sun-Times, DNAinfo and Chicago Inno, as well as on Good Morning America and ABC-7 Chicago. She lives in Chicago with her husband and daughters.
