Colleen Frerichs
Colleen works with clients across sectors, including defense and intelligence, technology, higher education and issue advocacy.
Colleen utilizes earned media to help Avoq’s criminal justice work, and has managed communications around the launch of several media ventures in the criminal justice space. She has garnered press attention in more than 50 news outlets, including The New York Times, CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, CBS News, NPR and Vice News. She has also served as the trainee coordinator for the firm’s office in Washington, D.C., overseeing interns and helping them integrate.
Prior to joining Avoq, Colleen worked at Hamilton Place Strategies in news cycle management, monitoring coverage and analyzing impacts to help clients better understand their performance and direct resources more efficiently. Prior to that, she spent time in Iowa working on the O’Malley for President campaign.
Colleen is from Timonium, MD, and now lives on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. As a former Irish dancer, you can bet she’s already counting down the days until the next St. Paddy’s Day.
