Josette Barrans

Josette helps clients across a wide range of industries achieve their policy and advocacy goals by developing in-depth research products and client publications while monitoring congressional activity.

Before joining Avoq, Josette worked at the Democratic National Committee, providing critical opposition research for Democratic presidential campaigns. In this role, her research was used to create public-facing content and became the basis for many mainstream news stories. In college, Josette worked as a research assistant for a now-published book on mental health policy and interned at the Wilson Center, a D.C.-based think tank.

Josette holds a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. She spends her free time playing volleyball, going to bar trivia and watching Capitals games.
