Michael George

Michael is an experienced technology and engineering architect with extensive knowledge in team-building and vision-planning. He has architected software systems across several industries, organizations and government institutions.

Michael leads Avoq’s web projects, managing a distributed group of engineers who meet tight deadlines and deliver an impressive product. He also architected a new hyperlocal software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform to layer multiple levels of government datasets from different agencies to produce a proprietary reporting and data science system.

Before Avoq, Michael led an engineering team for Nexient that did an e-commerce upgrade for Williams-Sonoma, and successfully launched a SaaS start-up called Ytxt.me that does business-to-customer texting. He was also director of software engineering for a large furniture retailer in the Midwest.

A sought-after inspirational and motivational speaker with three published books, Michael is from West Virginia and continues to live in the mountains near Snowshoe Mountain Resort. He can usually be found on the golf course or enjoying the great outdoors.
