Michael George

Michael is an experienced technology and engineering architect with extensive knowledge in team-building and vision-planning. He has architected software systems across several industries, organizations and government institutions.

Michael leads Avoq’s web projects, managing a distributed group of engineers who meet tight deadlines and deliver an impressive product. He also architected a new hyperlocal software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform to layer multiple levels of government datasets from different agencies to produce a proprietary reporting and data science system.

Before Avoq, Michael led an engineering team for Nexient that did an e-commerce upgrade for Williams-Sonoma, and successfully launched a SaaS start-up called Ytxt.me that does business-to-customer texting. He was also director of software engineering for a large furniture retailer in the Midwest.

Michael is a nationally recognized motivational speaker known for his dynamic focus on team building and leadership. The author of three best-selling books, he brings both inspiration and practical insight to audiences across the country. A proud West Virginian, Michael lives in the mountains near Snowshoe Mountain Resort, where he enjoys golfing—he’s recorded an impressive 11 hole-in-ones—and exploring the outdoors.
