
Erin Middlebrooks
Erin specializes in corporate communications and media strategy, with a strong focus on messaging, strategic planning and brand storytelling. She works with clients across industries and sectors, including public health, social justice and health equity.
Before joining Avoq, Erin served as an associate vice president of communications, representing University Hospital in Newark, NJ and Atlantic Health Systems, where she led communications and elevated centers of excellence. Prior to that, she was an account manager at Allison+Partners, working with Fortune 500 companies such as Toyota and Aflac. Erin has secured notable placements in Vogue, Forbes, INC, Ebony, Black Enterprise, Men’s Journal, Women’s Health and many others.
Among her career highlights, Erin orchestrated a panel on Black maternal mortality at the 2019 Essence Festival, featuring Latham Thomas, a celebrity doula, and Stacey D. Stewart, the first Black female president of the March of Dimes. She was also instrumental in Aflac’s 2021 “Closing the Gap” campaign, which offered financial relief to individuals struggling with medical debt. Their short film, “The Park Bench,” won an award at the 7th Annual Shorty Awards for ‘Best Integrated Campaign’ and premiered at Sundance in early 2022.
Erin is a native Jersey girl, and in her free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, traveling and spending time with friends and family. She also loves a NY Times crossword puzzle!
