Matt is a strategic and innovative communications leader with nearly 15 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications and brand strategy. He has expertise in executive thought leadership, media relations, team management, crisis communications and storytelling.

Before joining Avoq, Matt was the senior director of public relations and communications at Out & Equal, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace and beyond. In that role, he supported the creative and messaging development of the Out & Equal Workplace Summit, the world’s largest gathering of LGBTQ+ and allied professionals. Prior to that, he was senior director of external affairs at Foot Locker, Inc., leading executive visibility, messaging development and thought leadership. Matt has also worked for the City of New York, where he led public affairs for the New York City Economic Development Corporation. Before taking a role in city government, Matt worked at the International Rescue Committee, focusing on consumer, influencer and advocacy campaigns to highlight who refugees are and the value they bring across the country. He began his career at major agencies such as RF|Binder and Edelman, where he specialized in executive positioning, message development, media relations and profile raising.

Matt currently lives in Astoria. You can typically find him at a Broadway show or binge-watching the Golden Girls and Bravo.
