Malaya Nordyke

Malaya leads projects for clients across a variety of sectors, including finance, nonprofit and corporate entities. She specializes in helping clients improve their reputation and move public opinion through integrated communications campaigns — from owned media to large-scale advertising and from national thought leadership to hyper-local news. In 2022, Malaya managed the winning communications strategy that passed the largest environmental bond act in New York’s history.

Prior to joining Avoq, Malaya worked in media and journalism as the assistant director at a documentary production company, an editorial intern at Salon.com and an intern at PBS’s television series, “POV.” She honed her skills in marketing by spearheading the communications department at Oberlin Shansi, an international fellowship program.

Originally from Los Angeles, Malaya currently resides in Brooklyn. In her free time, she enjoys reading, Thai boxing (Muay Thai) and making very wobbly mugs on the pottery wheel.
